My work is rooted in emotion
My work is often described as Symbolic Realism—a genre that allows me to explore personal growth and emotional healing through my art. I see each painting as a mirror of the self. Every piece I create begins with an emotional idea and gradually evolves into a visual narrative. Often, that process reveals more about me than about the subject I’m portraying.
The more honest and personal a piece is, the more it resonates—because at our core, we’re all human, connected by shared emotions and lived experience.
I often work on several pieces at once, exploring a single idea or theme from different angles. This approach gives me the freedom to create without becoming too precise or restrictive too early on.
Once the meaning begins to reveal itself, I start making more intentional choices—adjusting colour, contrast, composition, and texture. These elements need to be carefully balanced, but even then, paintings can lose their way. That’s part of it. I stay with them, layering, shifting, refining—until they find their voice again.
My latest body of work continues to explore the human condition through richly layered portraits, symbolic realism, and emotionally charged abstraction. Each piece becomes a space where the internal and external worlds meet—where dreams, memories, and sensory impressions blur and intertwine.
I work with mixed media and acrylics, allowing each piece to unfold intuitively through layers of texture, emotion, and reflection. The process is deeply therapeutic—an act of release and reconnection.
If you feel drawn to any of the pieces shown above—especially those that have already found a home—please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be delighted to create a bespoke artwork just for you.
